Cisco To Invest $140 Mn in Indian IT Start-Ups

Cisco Systems,the US major IT invested (Rs 860 million rupees) in minority interests under the Indian technology start-ups to acquire about 140 million in the next three years, with Hilton Romanski, SVP Corporate Development at Cisco.

The company has already invested $ 100 million 15 technology companies in India. "We windows overlooking 140 million to invest in three to five years to acquire minority stake in Indian Startups" Romanski said BW] Business world.Romanski is for mergers and acquisitions of the company strategy (M & A) the managing their personal portfolios and responsible investment is responsible for acquisitions in 40 deals almost $ 20 billion.

Romanski also said the company might look over it and committed to invest $ 140 million in India, where Cisco is pushing good deals. Cisco had $ 240 million raised to invest in India. On average, the company has invested less than 20 percent in the Indian technology start-ups.

While e-commerce is the flavour of the season, Cisco is not optimistic about the industry and is more likely to try in areas such as cloud, Internet companies (OIE) and the content and the change of user entrepreneurship invest among others. The company said it will now look at some new companies in which investments can be made in the coming months.

Unlike most private equity funds, Cisco is looking at a wider horizon, where there are some new companies in which it invests, incubate. "The investment would be different in different stages, but incubate and help some of the companies in which we invest to make," Romanski said. Cisco expects strong returns (IRR) of investments reap. Romanski did not disclose the percentage of IRR (Internal Rate of Return). On an average PE fund approximately 20% of the IT industry are generally looking at the IRR from anywhere.
